’19 Programme

AFYM 2019
Brangwyn Hall, Swansea

We hope that you will find classes here in which you will enjoy participating. We welcome Pam Wedgwood back as an adjudicator, and this year she will be taking a class and workshop looking at how to play jazz/swung rhythms. Since swung rhythms now occur regularly in exam pieces we anticipate that this workshop will be popular and early application is advised.

Once again, we will be working in partnership with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Swansea Music Service to offer a workshop,  and on the Friday of the Festival the orchestra will be giving a concert in the Brangwyn Hall.

We have put in place a wonderful team of adjudicators, some new faces and some old friends returning to the festival. We welcome back Neil Crossley, Beate Toyka and Christopher Horner as well as Pam Wedgwood. Gerard McChrystal will hold his popular saxophone workshop, and we hope to offer masterclass opportunities during the festival.

We look forward to seeing you at AFYM 2019, and to hearing you play.
