BBC Workshop April/May 2020

With regret, the committee of AFYM is writing to inform you that the proposed BBC NOW workshop for which you have registered is unlikely to go ahead.

The latest Government information indicates that the coronavirus pandemic is likely to escalate further and social distancing may have to last for some time into the future. ‘Crowd’ events are prohibited, and it can not be known when these restrictions will be lifted. Sadly, the proposed workshop between BBC, WGM and AFYM falls within this immediate window and it seems extremely unlikely that it can go ahead.

The BBC nationally has suspended all activity from the BBC Orchestras and Choirs, which will include all activities from BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales. The decisions will be reviewed in April.

We will keep in touch with the BBC. As and when future events are organised, we will contact you directly to ascertain your interest in taking part.
