Published: October 21st, 2019

BEN TARLTON, the winner of the John Fussell Award for young Musicians this year was a regular performer at AFYM, and is well known to many of us at the festival.   Very warm congratulations to Ben, we are proud to have been involved in the early days of his career.

Ben is a now a post-graduate student at the Guildhall School of Music.   He has won many awards and sponsorships, has performed in prestigious venues and has travelled in Europe and America on youth courses, masterclasses and concerts. Do look at his cv to find out how much Ben has achieved already.

John Fussell was a well-known figure in the South Wales music scene and on his death a Trust Fund was set up in his memory to support young musicians with link to Wales to further continue their studies. Former winners of the award are Llŷr Williams, Rhys Meirion and Catrin Finch. The first prize this year was £2,500.
